GENEVA - On February 19, the European Parliament passed a resolution
calling on the US to "halt [its] series of subcritical [nuclear] tests" and asked
all other governments "to refrain from carrying out such tests." The US
responded by detonating its "Stagecoach" subcritical test at the Nevada Test
Site in March. The underground explosion involved nearly three pounds of
plutonium and 255 pounds of high explosives. The US plans more
subcritical tests in the months ahead. To register your concerns, contact the
