NPS Receives 20,000+ Comments Regarding Jet Ski Regulations

Friends of Bluewater Network:

We would like to thank everyone who contacted the National Park Service (NPS) concerning their jet ski regulations. While an official count is not available, the NPS estimates it received more than 20,000 calls, letters, and e-mails. This is great news because that's about 20,000 more comments than the NPS expected. What's even better is that the NPS estimates that the comments are running more than 3 to 1 in support of severely restricting jet skis.

While we are heartened by the public's response and have taken some time to bask in that response, we are well into the process of shifting the focus of our work to rid the National Parks of jet skis, from the NPS to Congress. More on this in the near future.

Once again, thanks to all who helped protect their national heritage by contacting the NPS. Our efforts wouldn't be successful without you.
